The restaurants, well breakfast was good, but then it be hard not to make a good omelet. The rest of the meals, well they were all the same with little or no variety, let's just say they were OK.
The Snack bar; they made the best pizza anywhere in Acapulco.

The bars, well a good bartender really makes the bar and they were the best. They even introduced us to a drink called the Mexican Flag, have a look at the picture here and you can tell why they call it that.

They had a large freshwater pool as well as a smaller one plus a saltwater pool on the back of the hotel. The saltwater pool was really just an outlet from the ocean, but private. It was a peaceful and relaxing area, only drawback it was also a long, long way from the bar and the longer we stayed the farter the bar seemed away. They also have a tour desk, but since we didn't use it I can't tell you much about it. There was also shopping arcade or variety store, but with all inclusive we didn't really use that much either.

The all-inclusive Meigas is more familiar to Mexican travelers than to their U.S. counterparts. This high-quality, nine-floor resort, adjacent to one of the liveliest beaches in old Acapulco, offers excellent value. Stay here if you seek the authentic feel of a Mexican holiday, with all its boisterous, family-friendly charms.
At least that is what it said on the brochure, however we found more Canadians there than Mexicans, at least it was that way when we were there.

The Meigas is built into a cliff on the Caleta peninsula, overlooking the beach. Rooms surround a plant-filled courtyard, topped by a glass ceiling. All have large terraces with ocean views, although some lack separation from the neighbouring terrace. The simply decorated rooms are very clean and comfortable, with a large closet and desk. Each room has two queen beds, firm mattresses, and cable TV.

A succession of terraces holds tropical gardens, restaurants, and pools. A private beach and boat dock are down a brief flight of stairs. The resort has a changing agenda of theme nights and evening entertainment.

The entertainment was good and was about twice a week. But then we didn't go there just for the entertainment since we made our own entertainment on the beach with the locals.

All I can say is we had a great time and got to know some super people both from the tourists as well as the hotel animation team.

The Grand Meigas Hotel... rises majestically from the cliffs overlooking Caleta Beaches. Enjoy a vacation in the heart of charming, romantic, old Acapulco, just minutes from the cliff divers.

Once the Caleta Hotel and second home of the Great Hollywood Stars of the 50's, is now the Grand Meigas Acapulco featuring the comfort and services demanded by the value conscious traveler, where you can simply relax and enjoy the warmth of Mexican Hospitality.

But that was the 50's and plenty has changed since then. I had walk around the hotel to floors that are not even used anymore. On the second floor there is large and I mean large open area that was ones used for party's, dances and entertainment by the Stars and even my Friend Max who's been coming to Acapulco for was longer than I can remember.

But after all is said and done, I FOR ONE would stay here again! For it truly is breath-taking from a photographer viewpoint, plus a place to relax after a busy day or night at the disco.
