The advertisements for Nina's read “Nina's is one of Acapulco's premier Latin dance Clubs playing a combination of Salsa, Cumbia, and Merengue. It offers a night of Carnival with a show latin dance spectacular taking place every night at 1am.”

So far we have been there three times and had a great time every time. But more than that, we are planning on going back this January 2006. Now I realize that a place like Nina's is not for everyone as they play mostly Mexican and Latin music like the Salsa and so on. Both my wife and I enjoy Mexican music and even have a few LP's and CD's.

In 2003 my wife Jane, her sister Alice and I enjoyed a great night there. We decided to go during the week instead of the weekend like we had done in the past and so got there to early of course. We had gone on the weekends in the past and stood in line and didn't get the best seats, but that was on the weekends when they are busy. During the week they are of course not as busy.

The place opens up at 11:00 pm or 23:00 hours if you like the Mexican time. During the week you don't need to get there early but Friday and Saturday you want to get there early to get a good seat. The reason of course is that there is a good show at 1:00 am and the show was good. It is kind of a unique place as they offer a good variety. They may start of with a DJ and then go into life performance, show dancing, singing and other performances, then do into dancing for everyone.

About 1:00 o'clock there was a Mexican singer and without missing a beat my wife run n stage jelling Julio and started hugging him. It surprise the heck to of me as I didn't think that Jane would do that. But the next thing that happened all the Mexican girls stared doing the same thing. It started a good reaction as we stared dancing with the Mexican and they kept asking Jane and Alice to dance. Well I must tell you these Mexicans can dance the meringue a lot better than I can, but it sure was fun dancing with someone that know how to. So if you're looking for a night of shows and dancing, Nina's shouldn't be missed. The advertisement says that they open from 10pm to 4am but if I remember right I don't think that door opened until 11:00. Oh yes before I forget the best and my favorite part they offer an open bar which, for me anyway, is much needed to get me to dance salsa and cumbia in front of a nation of great dancers. Now I usually drink Cerveza and Rum and Coke so one can't go to far wrong with that but the girls were drinking mixed drinks, and said they were good and enjoyed them. So open bar is not bad!
